ʿAlī Čelebī (d. 903/1497) was born in Bursa, where his father Yūsuf Bālı (d 846/1442) was a judge, and he completed his primary education there. Later he went to Herat, Samarqand, and Bukhara and studied under various scholars in the madrasas there. He became a scholar and teacher in the mathematical and religious sciences. |
