Notes

A disciple of Ibn al-Shāṭir (d. 777/1375), and may have been a muwaqqit at the Damascus Umayyad Mosque. He later became a muwaqqit at Cairo. He was also the teacher of Ibn al‐Majdī, one of the major Egyptian astronomers during the first half of the 15th c.. and the maternal grandfather of Sibt al‐Māridīnī.
