Taro Mimura has identified Dūnash ibn Tamīm as the author of this anonymous Arabic work, and not Māshāʾ Allāh. The work was the basis for the Latin translation entitled, "Liber de orbe", and George of Cremona had attributed the original Arabic to Māšāʾ Allāh in his list of Latin translations.
