According to Taro Mimura , the Liber de orbe has been misattributed to Māshāʾ Allāh. There are 2 versions of the text: a 27-ch. version (attributed to Māshāʾ Allāh in the list of Gerard of Cremona's Latin translations); and a longer 40-ch. version. Mimura has identified the author as Dūnash ibn Tamīm, a disciple of Isaac Israeli (ca. 855-ca 955). |
