Qadizade al-Rumi's commentary on Mamūd al-Jaghmīnī’s introduction to Ptolemaic theoretical astronomy (al-Mulakhkhaṣ fī ʿilm al-hayʾa al-basīṭa), which he composed in 814/1412 and dedicated to Ulugh Beg, gave rise to at least 25 commentaries and glosses on it. It became a favored intermediate level textbook studied in Ottoman madrasas, and continued to be studied in eighteenth-century Cairo, and at the Azhar.
