There is controversy regarding the translation that is the basis of Ibn ʿIrāq's correction. Sidoli [2019], following Krause [1936], has maintained that the source is the now lost translation by Isḥāq b. Ḥunayn, whereas Rashed/Papadopoulos [2017] claim the source to be the equally lost translation by Abū 'Uthmān al-Dimashqī with the corrections by Yūḥannā. |
