"Translation 1 seems to be prepared either based on an unknown Greek recension or on a different Arabic translation of the extant Greek text" (Nikfahm-Khubravan and Eshera, p. 11). In some manuscripts the translation is attributed to Isḥāq ibn Ḥunayn, and in others to his father Ḥunayn ibn Isḥāq. Naṣīr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī, who used this version to prepare his recension, attributed the translation to Thābit ibn Qurra. The correct attribution remains uncertain.
